Shaving can be such a pain, especially if you are like me with dark hair that grows in almost as soon as I shave it! I have tried waxing, creams, sprays that promise to slow down the growth.I prefer waxing but never seemed to get good results from it. The wax was either too hard & ripped at my skin or was too soft to really grab my coarse hair and then a friend recommended chocolate wax & I have been hooked ever since!
Why I am OBSESSED!
For starters, when you heat this product, the aroma of chocolate fills your house! That alone made me love this wax. My hair is very coarse on my legs, under arms & bikini area and is deeply rooted but my skin is still very sensitive. Hard waxes that really lock onto the hair to remove it ripped my skin and irritated it. Softer formulas like honey or sugaring waxes were much better for my skin but not strong enough to really pull the hair out so I still ended up shaving.
This chocolate wax is a creme so it doesn't get overly hard but just enough to grab my hair and bring it out. There is also a property in this wax that really decreases the pain. I use this under my arms and in sensitive bikini areas with no problem! And this gives you a great exfoliation for glowing skin afterward!
How I Use It:
Using a wax warmer, heat the wax until it is completely melted & has a thin consistency.
On cleansed, dry skin, use a wooden wax stick to smooth a thin layer of the wax in a manageable area in the same direction that your hair grows.
Apply a paper or linen wax strip over the wax and rub 2-3 times back & forth over the strip to get a good adhesion since this wax doesn't get hard.
You want to pull in the opposite direction of the growth and the way you applied the wax. Hold skin tight at the end of the strip where you will pull and quickly pull the strip back.
I use coconut oil to remove any residue left over on my skin.
* I reuse the strip 5 or 6 times to remove more spots. I find that building like this helps the other areas adhere better but when you feel the strip getting heavy or sticky its time to get a new one.
* Due to its thinner consistency this wax can be a bit messy until you learn to use it. If you drop the wax anywhere you can clean it up using baby oil or cooking oil.
* Hold wax stick over a strip when transferring from the tub to your skin to minimize mess & drop off.
